Easy textured dishcloth/duster – free crochet pattern

Rosy Alice Handmade

The “Mock Bobble Stitch” is an interesting combination of a UK DC (US SC) and a UK TR (US DC), that creates a sweet little textured surface that resembles the bobble stitch.

You can create all sorts of interesting items with it. Here, I’ve used it IMG_20140810_172830[1]to crochet a simple dishcloth or duster from yarn ends.

Start by chaining the desired amount, perhaps 35. I like to Foundation Double Crochet so you could start with that instead if you prefer.

Then, DC into the first stitch. TR into the next.

And that really is it!

Just go back and forth along each row, repeating these two stitches.

The only thing you have to remember is, on each following row, crochet a TR into a DC from the previous row, and crochet a DC into a TR from the previous row.

Nice, easy and calming, I think!
