  1. Don’t count knitting out! I do both and I think for cables, and decorative stitch work (climbing vines, leaves, etc) knitting wins. For speed and appliques, definitely crochet.

  2. This should be a good fight – who is the judge/referee? I do both, and I have to say, they each have their strong points! I think crocheting is faster, but I feel like it uses more yarn, and the fabric it makes is stiffer. So give knitting some points!

  3. can I vote for both? Crochet is faster (if you’re equally good at both). It’s easier to make 3D objects and toys with crochet, but knitting gives a softer, smoother, thinner, more flexible fabric for wearables. Also since knitting has smaller stitches, it’s better for intricate patterns (what my husband likes to call “pixel art”). I think the best is when knitting and crochet are combined, like a knit sweater with a pretty crocheted edge. 🙂 Why fight it? do both! (you know you want to….c’mon, yes you do…)
